About

Science, music, and people.

I'm a Biochemistry and Chemical Biology student in the Reid Honors College at Wayne State University, working toward a career in cardiothoracic surgery.

My interest in medicine started with a sound: the quiet click of a mechanical heart valve I heard when I was about thirteen. Wondering how a small implanted valve could help keep a heart working pulled me toward science, and it's still the question I'm chasing.

I've spent my life around music: piano first, then church organ, then trumpet. I found my way into leadership through youth ministry, restaurant work, theater crews, and school athletics. Outside of class, I build things: a game prototype, research ideas, and short videos about life as a pre-med student.

A life in music

Music came before almost everything else. I started piano around age five, and by nine or ten I was learning the church organ too. Press play to hear for yourself.

Why the blue hour?

The blue hour is the short stretch between day and night, when the sky turns deep blue and the city lights come on.

It felt like the right setting for a portfolio about the in-between: a student working toward medicine, with a lot still ahead. Every room here is set in that light.
